Change how you manage stress with a mindfulness practice

Would you like to reduce the impact of stress in your daily life and be more present? Mindful Living for Stress Management is for anyone who wants to learn mindfulness or deepen their meditation practice.

This 8-week group course is developed from the evidence-based Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Throughout the course, we will practice mindfulness together and explore how it affects us and our day-to-day lives.

Mindful Living for Stress Management can help you learn to engage in present-moment awareness, which is known to help manage stress, anxiety, pain, and other challenges.

You will learn to:

  • practice mindfulness and to be present with your experience
  • support the integration of learning into your daily life
  • form healthy habits and maintain ongoing mindfulness practice

A recent Statistics Canada survey revealed that over 4.1 million people, representing 21.2% of all employed Canadians, experience high or very high levels of work-related stress. This included stress relating to heavy workload and balancing work and personal life.

  • anyone who wants to put in time and effort to build skills in mindfulness
  • people who want to improve management of anxiety and its impact on their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
  • people who experience anxiety or distress due to injury, pain, chronic disease, or transitional stressors

A micro-credential is a short program or course that can help you develop new skills to help advance you in the workplace or in your job search. With micro-credentials, you can stack smaller courses to build larger ones, committing only to bite-size pieces. Micro-credentials are competency-based, meaning they’ll guide you through developing and demonstrating important skills, rather than being focused on tests and exams. They’re designed to include hands-on learning with lots of feedback.
