Volunteer Tutors

Volunteer tutors are community members who share some of their time and expertise with Vancouver Island University students who request extra help with their studies. Volunteer tutors are available for adults who want to learn to read, or who want to improve their basic reading, spelling, writing, or math skills. Trained volunteer tutors will work with adults on a one-to-one basis. If you are interested in having a volunteer tutor, or know of someone who needs help, contact us at 604.485.2878. There is no fee for this program.

Paid Tutors

If you or your child require private tutorial help, see the availability list of people providing tutoring services by visiting our front office staff or calling 604.485.2878.

The list is available as a public service, and Vancouver Island University does not provide any guarantees as to the quality of the instruction.

VIU is interested in expanding its tutoring service beyond the Grade 12 level and is looking for tutors interested in working with adults who are taking correspondence or university transfer courses.

If you would like your name added to the paid tutor list, please contact us at 604.485.2878.
