Possible EASE Combinations

Students must meet language requirements for English and ESL courses. Students should be at least Intermediate level ESL and have studied English for years.

Campus and Community Full Package

25 hours per week - $347 per week (minimum 6 weeks)

  • 15 hours of VIU classes each week – Adult Basic English Education (ABE), ESL and other courses
  • University courses* - see below
  • Included in the full package are VIU course textbooks, Eldercollege courses, one-on-one weekly tutoring, the Writing Centre, VIU Resource Rooms, and university English and Psychology course observation
  • Up to 10 hours of community volunteer placement and activities each week such as elementary school placement, therapeutic horseback riding, dog training workshops, recreation courses and sports activities, some art/music/cultural events

University Level students must meet university course requirements:

  • graduation from BC high school with "C" in English 12


  • minimum TOEFL 550, TOEFL Computer Bast Test (CBT) 213, IBT (with no score under 19), IELTS 6.0 (with no score under 5.5), CAEL 60, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (minimum "B"), or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (minimum "B")
