Exercise your mind! ElderCollege classes are open to everyone!

ElderCollege is an opportunity for adults of all ages to engage in classes for self-development and fun. Join life-long learners for interesting and stimulating courses.

If you are under 50, you can still be enrolled in the class of your interest, but you cannot become a member to get the reduced rate for the course.

Why is ElderCollege different?

Become a Member

If you are 50 years of age or over and have an interest in learning, become a member to take advantage of our many learning opportunities and the reduced rates for our courses. Younger spouses and partners of ElderCollege members are eligible to become members and attend classes at reduced rates.

ElderCollege operates over two semesters. Your membership runs from July 1 (of the current year) to June 30 (of the following year). You must be a member before registering for ElderCollege courses to get the reduced rates.

To get your membership (ElderCollege Powell River ONLY):

Phone 604-485-2878 (ask for course code RMEM 001 C19R01) or apply in person.


The annual membership fee is $20.00. Your membership allows you to enroll in ElderCollege courses delivered at the Powell River Campus.

Please note:

  • Course tuition varies
  • Lab fees may apply
  • Those under 50 can register for an additional fee of $20 + GST to attend any class (REC 001 C19R01)

Although instructors are volunteers, your tuition covers a variety of services:

  • registration & administration
  • photocopies & supplies
  • promotional expenses
  • special events
  • facility usage

Interested in sharing what you love?

Why not teach an ElderCollege course? Join others with similar interests and share your knowledge and enthusiasm. Make friends and learn from each other.

Complete the form and click on the Submit button at the bottom of the screen. Your information will be emailed to the ElderCollege Coordinator, who will contact you to set up your course.
