Students should have at least basic computer skills and experience with a web browser before they enrolling in an online course. Take our self-assessment to test your basic computer skills.
This assessment is self-grading, so you will see your grade after you take the test. If you do not feel confident in your skills after taking this quiz, please take an introductory computer class before attempting an online course. Vancouver Island University offers Introduction to Computers courses throughout the school year to meet your training needs.

Check your system and software for online course readiness
- Some courses have specific system requirements. Review the course description for the course you're interested in to view any special system requirements for that course.
