The VIU Library in Powell River
The VIU Library is accessible to VIU students and employees wherever they live, study, or work. Online resources and services are supplemented by physical resources available at the three campus libraries, located at the Nanaimo, Cowichan, and Powell River campuses. Physical items, such as print books and DVDs, can be requested online for pickup at the nearest campus library. Assistance is available online, via telephone, and in person at all three campus libraries.
A unique initiative at Powell River is the VIU campus involvement in the Powell River Community Sustainability Project. The VIU Library supports this initiative by including information on community sustainability among the materials available at the Powell River campus library, and online. Of course, the Powell River campus library also has information (on the shelf and in cyberspace) to support the full range of credit programs offered at the campus.
Members of the community who are not affiliated with VIU, are welcome to use many of the resources and services of the VIU library. Some resources are not available to community borrowers, and there is a charge for some services. For details, see library account information, or visit your local campus library.
